My dream Pendants

Ay Illuminate

Currently obsessing over Ay Illuminate lighting Collection. Ay Illuminate is inspired by distant cultures and their traditional crafts. The Dutch design company works only with natural materials and applies local craftsmanship in Asia and Africa to produce their unique products.

Organic materials including natural bamboo, linen, cotton and sisal are brought together to produce an elemental, sophisticated lighting centrepiece. Absolutely drool worthy.

Apartment full of character

An apartment full of character. All white walls, antique fireplace, wainscoting, soft linens and that built in bookcase is to die for. I can not get enough of that bookcase that frames the bedroom door and creates a perfect feature for the dinning room.

Detail Oriented

A beautifully styled home with a minimalist styling approach. The beauty of the white walls and light wood floor boards allow for the perfect canvas. Each little nook is styled with hints of greenery, textured throws, pillows or a decorative light fitting.

Light + airy

A beautiful combination of modern and minimal furniture, with vintage items and styled with stunning accessories. The glass partition in the living room hides away the workspace, while still letting the light through, which is such a stylish solution as well.

Ways to style your rental

A house is a home, and even if you are renting a house, you should be able to create a home, through showing your style and showcasing your most loved items.

Working within boundaries of your landlord to style your home might feel overwhelming, but it can be simple, it's little things that will make an impact without costing a lot of time or money.

                                                        . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Artwork : Most landlords don't allow permanent fixtures on walls. Finding it difficult to hang artwork or precious items. You can simply add adhesive hooks, or get creative with the way you present your artworks. Artwork does not always need to be fixed to a wall, they can sit on a mantel piece, window frames or on top of console tables.

Focal point :  Our eyes want to be drawn to something upon walking in a room, most rooms that feel underwhelming are because theres no focal point. A focal point can be a window, a fireplace, artwork or a piece of furniture.

Accessories:  Being able to express your own style is the easiest through accessorising. Accessorising with rugs, throws and pillows, is cost effective. Consider adding texture and prints through pillows, laying down a throw for some added texture to a bed and sofa. Rugs can add subtle patterns that can liven up a room.

Indoor plants:  A stunning display of plants help to bring the outside in and create a sense of freshness in any room. Selection plants in various shapes, colours. Also consider having a combination of climbing and trailing plants.

Mirrors:  Mirrors are a great way to enhance a space, and they also trick the eye into thinking a space is bigger than it really is, which can be critical in a small apartment.
